The estimations from Statistics Greenland concerning employment and unemployment among wage earners and trade in Greenland, is based on data provided by employers reports on wage and tax to the municipal tax authorities.
The estimations deals solely with persons aged 15 to 62 years, corresponding to the definition of the potential work force. The estimations also deal with all wage earners and persons who trade with businesses which have reported the activity to the tax authorities. Persons with an annual income over DKK 40.000 is only included in the publication.
In the unemployment statistics the term”potential work force” is used. This term covers all persons aged 15 to 62 years who are born in Greenland and who reside in a town.
