Economic activity in Greenland is dominated by a few large industries. Around 1/3 of the total business revenue comes from fishing sector and related industries such as processing and trade. Another big industry is wholesale and retail, for which the revenue poses just about one third of total company turnover.
When it comes to value creation, value added, the fishing industry is by far the largest contributor. It is responsible for more than one-third of total value added generated by businesses in Greenland.
