Statistics Greenland offers Statistical Yearbook in English. The Statistical Yearbook has lots of useful statistics and information about the Greenlandic society. The Statistical Yearbook 2010 and 2011 are not printed and can therefore only be found on this website. We also aim to translate all content of our free databank - the StatBank - and update tables in parallel

Second highest fertility in the Nordic countries
For the second year in a row fertility is below reproduction level, but still the second highest in the Nordic countries, where only the Faroe Islands have higher fertility. On average, Greenlandic women give birth their first child 5 years earlier than women in the Nordic countries. In 2013, the average age of first time mothers were 23.5 years.

Population higher in summer
On July 1st 2014, there where 56.295 inhabitants living in Greenland. That is 13 more than on January 1st , this year, but 188 less than on July 1st 2013

Declining and aging population over the next 20 years
The total population count is over the next 20 years projected to decline from todays 56,282 persons to 55.900 in 2020 and 54.800 in 2030.
